Solar operator standardizes inverter monitoring

A solar O&M team normalized inverter and meter data from several vendors into one operational view.

Challenge

The site had grown in phases, leaving the operations team with multiple portals and inconsistent alarm naming. Nightly reports were assembled manually.

Modibus approach

Modibus gateways collected Modbus TCP data from inverters and meters, tagged it consistently, and forwarded alarms to the O&M system over MQTT.

Outcome

Operators stopped switching between vendor tools for first-line triage. The team also caught underperforming strings earlier during dusty summer weeks.
