Textile mill reduces compressed-air energy waste

A spinning mill used edge energy monitoring to find air leaks and correlate compressor load with production shifts.

Challenge

Utility meters, compressor controllers and production counters were all available, but they were not connected in a way that supervisors could use during a shift.

Modibus approach

Modibus collected power, pressure and runtime signals, then published shift-level indicators to a simple operations dashboard.

Outcome

The first savings came from leak detection and pressure setpoint discipline. Later, the same data helped schedule compressor maintenance without disturbing production.

Once the supervisors saw the cost per shift, energy stopped being an accounting topic and became an operations topic.
