El equipo necesitaba conectar activos heterogeneos sin sustituir automatismos existentes. Operators had local HMI visibility, but supervisors could not compare press behavior across lines. Changeover issues were discovered too late.
Enfoque Modibus
Modibus se desplego como una capa edge segura: captura local, normalizacion de datos y acceso controlado para operaciones y servicio. Modibus read approved PLC tags, exposed cycle and fault states, and sent a compact event stream to the plant dashboard.
Resultado
La planta consiguio una operacion mas estable, menos intervenciones imprevistas y una coordinacion mas rapida entre produccion, mantenimiento e IT. Supervisors identified repeat changeover gaps and caught transfer misalignment earlier. The team kept PLC logic untouched, which helped controls engineers approve the project.
