Overview
This guide walks you through the first connection of the MB-213 edge gateway so your team can commission it quickly and move toward a secure cloud-connected setup.
Before you start
- Confirm power, Ethernet and serial interfaces are available on site.
- Record the device serial number and target network parameters.
- Prepare admin credentials and the IP range approved by your IT team.
Step 1: Mount and wire the gateway
Install the device on DIN rail, connect primary power and attach the required field interfaces. Keep service loops and cable labels clean so later maintenance is straightforward.
Step 2: Access the local interface
Connect your laptop on the same network segment, open the local admin interface and update the network settings to match the deployment environment.
Step 3: Validate data flow
Verify link status, serial communication and outbound connectivity. If Modbus or MQTT is used, validate a simple read/write path before continuing.
